ABOUT US

Where Every Child Belongs—and Every Scholar Thrives.

About

NIXON ELEMENTARY

Welcome to Nixon Elementary School, a tuition-free public charter school serving kindergarten through 6th grade scholars in the heart of Montgomery’s Westside community. As part of the Phalen Leadership Academies (PLA) network, we are committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where every scholar is valued, encouraged, and empowered to succeed.

At Nixon, our teachers use data-driven instruction, small-group learning, and a rigorous, personalized curriculum to ensure every child receives the targeted support they need to master essential skills. Through one-on-one and small-group intervention, we help scholars build confidence, curiosity, and a strong foundation for academic success.

Beyond the classroom, Nixon offers hands-on PreK learning, after-school tutoring, enrichment activities, and a free Summer Learning Program. Scholars engage in arts, STEM, cultural learning, and other experiences that help them explore their interests and connect learning to real-life opportunities. Families also benefit from free job training through SkilledUS, strengthening both scholar and family success.

At Nixon Elementary School, we believe every child has greatness within. We are preparing scholars to become confident learners, compassionate leaders, and engaged citizens—ready to thrive in school, at home, and in their communities.
